1. Introduction

FLONUT SRL, operating under the brand Bookbite AI ("we," "our," or "us"), is committed to being transparent about how we handle data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you may have. By using our Platform, you acknowledge and accept this Privacy Policy in its entirety.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information. When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and authentication credentials. If you sign in through Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google.

2.2 Payment Information. When you make a purchase, payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card information. We receive transaction details including purchase amount, currency, and order status.

2.3 Content Data and Prompts. We store all data associated with books you create, including but not limited to: text prompts, character descriptions, story settings, all AI generation prompts (both user-provided and system-generated), all AI-generated text and illustrations, and all metadata and timestamps associated with your activity on the Platform.

2.4 Usage Data. We automatically collect certain information about your device and how you interact with the Platform, including IP address, browser type, operating system, pages visited, and time spent on the Platform.

2.5 Location Data. We use your approximate location (derived from your IP address) to determine the appropriate currency (EUR, USD, or RON) for pricing display. We do not collect precise geolocation data.

3. No Biometric Data Collection

Bookbite AI does not collect, process, or store biometric data of any kind. The information users provide when creating books (such as character names, physical descriptions, personality traits, age ranges, and story preferences) constitutes creative and fictional input only. This data is not derived from, linked to, or used to identify any real individual's biometric characteristics.

Specifically: character descriptions are fictional attributes for storybook characters; no facial recognition, fingerprint scanning, voice recognition, or any other biometric identification technology is used; no photographs of real individuals are processed or analyzed; all AI-generated illustrations are original creations not based on biometric data.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for any lawful purpose at our sole discretion, including but not limited to:

  • Providing, maintaining, and improving the Platform
  • Processing your transactions and delivering purchased products
  • Generating AI-powered book content based on your input
  • Storing all prompts and outputs for our records and operational purposes
  • Training, improving, or developing AI models and content generation capabilities
  • Research, analytics, and statistical analysis
  • Marketing, promotional activities, and portfolio purposes
  • Communicating with you about your account and purchases
  • Detecting, preventing, and addressing technical issues or fraud
  • Complying with legal obligations
  • Any other lawful commercial purpose

By using the Platform, you acknowledge and agree that you have no expectation of how your data, prompts, or generated content will be used beyond what is described in this policy. FLONUT SRL reserves the right to use all data provided to or generated through the Platform for any lawful purpose.

5. AI Models and Third-Party Processing

5.1 FLONUT SRL reserves the right to use any AI model, service, or technology provider to generate content, without restriction and without prior notice. Users shall have no expectation or right regarding which AI model or provider processes their data.

5.2 Your data (including prompts, inputs, and content) may be sent to and processed by third-party AI providers as part of the content generation process. By using the Platform, you explicitly consent to such processing.

5.3 We may share anonymized or aggregated data with third parties for research, analytics, or commercial purposes.

6. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. While we implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Sharing

We may share your data with:

  • AI Providers: Any AI model provider we choose to use for content generation, at our sole discretion.
  • Service Providers: Including Stripe (payments), Supabase (database), Vercel (hosting), and any other service provider we engage.
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law, regulation, legal process, or government request.
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
  • Any Other Lawful Purpose: At the sole discretion of FLONUT SRL.

8. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you may have certain rights under GDPR:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate personal data
  • Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data (subject to our legitimate interests and legal obligations)

Please note that exercising certain rights (such as erasure) may result in the inability to continue using the Platform. Additionally, FLONUT SRL may retain certain data as necessary to comply with legal obligations, enforce agreements, or protect legitimate interests.

9. Cookies

While our Platform creates content for children, the Platform itself is intended for use by adults (parents, guardians, educators). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

11. Data Retention

We retain all data (including prompts, inputs, generated content, and account information) indefinitely or for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy. FLONUT SRL reserves the right to retain data beyond account deletion for legitimate business purposes, legal compliance, and enforcement of our Terms and Conditions.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy at any time without prior notice. We will post the updated policy on the Platform with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Platform after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
